Arrive at the farm and brace yourself for the excitement of standing next to and immersing yourself in all of the Highland glory!
Meet the Herd
Mingle with 10 Highland cows and their other herd mates! Gently pat, feed and brush the cows and become acquainted with all of the different personalities. The calves are usually the stars of the show when it comes to enjoying a good brush! I will begin capturing gorgeous candid images of your interactions.
Session Commences
Lets head into the outer paddock! I will lead the session, encouraging you into natural poses alongside the cows. Whether you are feeling romantic, wanting to update your family portraits or to simply just be with the cows, I can cater and adjust to any scenario!
Memories
1-2 weeks after your session, a stunning gallery of professionally edited images will be delivered to you for you to download, share with family and friends and print for your home. Relive your Highland memories all over again at your leisure!
What should I wear?
I highly encourage these colours - creams, light pastels, tan. An outfit example could be a nice long flowy dress or a neutral top with light coloured jeans. Please avoid bright white, anything fluorescent, heavy patterns and large logos.
Enclosed footwear is required at all times when you are on the farm. Boots and gumboots are the best option throughout autumn, winter and spring. Please avoid white sneakers unless you don't mind getting them dirty!
Are the cows friendly?
While Highland cows are gentle giants, they are still a large animal with their own moods and personalities.
All sessions are completely on the cows' terms, and they will only involve themselves as much as they feel happy to. We do not restrain or lead the cows around on halters, they are completely free roaming.
Are children and pets welcome?
Children are absolutely welcome - all children must be at least 5 years old to walk around independently on the property. All younger children will need to be carried or secure in a pram.
Unfortunately, your own pets are not able to join in, due to the wellbeing and safety of the herd and yourself. Because dogs can naturally trigger a flight response in cattle, it isn't safe for them to be included in this experience.
What happens if it rains?
If there is a light drizzle, we may still continue and place you under a lovely clear umbrella - this can make for some really magic shots! This of course only works if there are only two of you.
For families and more than two attendees, we will reschedule if the weather looks unsuitable.
